Archaeologist Discovers Oldest Temple on Earth

By admin | May 6, 2008

The oldest temple on earth has been discovered by Klaus Schmidt and archaeologists believe that it’s twice as old as anything comparable on the planet. The carvings of foxes, lions, birds, snakes and scorpions in the structure are dated around 9,500 BC. With no evidence of houses or graves near the temple, Mr. Schmidt believes that the hilltop was a site of pilgrimage for communities within a few hundred mile radius.
